I was born in New York City, moved to Raleigh,
North Carolina, and then went back to New York.
Since 1991, I've been living in Philadelphia.
After attending SUNY@Stonybrook, where I earned a B.A. in economics, I later took an MBA with a focus on marketing from Fordham.
My early career centered on nonprofits. I worked for CARE, United Way of New York City and the Children's Television Workshop. Corporate stints included work at Capital Cities/ABC.
An interest in marketing and technology led to my co-founding I-SITE, Inc., an interactive agency in Philadelphia created in 1995. During my decade as president, I served major companies including McNeil Consumer Products, Sinofi-Aventis, the National Dairy Council, Johnson & Johnson, and Deloitte Consulting. Brands included St. Josephs Aspirin, varieties of Tylenol (i.e. Tylenol Allergy Sinus), and a variety of dermatological products.
My hobbies include producing videos and music. But my most visible hobby is collecting historic space artifacts: I have produced museum exhibits and operate a website dedicated to space history museums. (There is more about all this on the "Space" page.)
Currently, I am consulting on internet and marketing projects. I am, of course, seeking additional work in these areas where I have unique experience and skills to offer. (To learn more about my perspective and approach to business issues, see the "Business" page and my blog.)
If you would like to talk with me about projects—related to business or space—email me at ray@raykatz.com.
